Interlibrary Loan
PAU Students, Faculty, Staff, and Alumni
PAU faculty, staff, alums, and students may request books, journal articles and dissertations from other universities using interlibrary loan (ILL) through our membership in the National Library of Medicine's network and the OCLC worldwide library network.
To request interlibrary loans (ILL), use our online web form.
You can also request an ILL while searching within PsycINFO or any of our other databases that are accessible within the "EBSCOhost" environment in which we access PsycINFO.
To request an ILL while searching within the EBSCOhost environment, click on the link that says "Request this item through interlibrary loan" and fill out the form to submit your request to our ILL staff.
Students and alums will need to pay for Interlibrary Loan requests before requests will be processed. The fee for Interlibrary Loan services is $3.50 for each book or journal article. The charge for dissertations is $10.00, but check our online dissertation database before requesting a dissertation because the dissertation you need may be available online for free. To pay for your Interlibrary Loan requests, you may either:
1) Drop off a check at the Library circulation desk. (Second fastest method.)
2) Mail a check to the Interlibrary Loan Department, Research Library, PAU, 1791 Arastradero Road, Palo Alto, CA 94304 (Slowest method.)
3) Use the PayPal payment option at the end of the online Interlibrary Loan request form. (Fastest method.)
If there are books or journal articles that you need that you cannot find at PAU, and you don't have enough time to obtain the items through ILL, you may be able to go to another local college or university library and email the article back to yourself, make photocopies of pages from the book or article, or in some cases you may be able to check the book out of the other library.
If you would like to try to obtain items from another local library by visiting the library yourself, see the information on the following PAU Library webpage:
