A licensed psychologist in California, a PGSP alumnus, and now Vice President of PGSP’s Office of Professional Development, Luli Emmons and her staff provide guidance and career-planning services to PGSP students throughout their practicum and internship training and their preparation for postdoctoral training.
As former Director of the California Psychology Internship Council, Dr. Emmons’s background includes 30 years of clinical and administrative experience in community mental health, professional psychology education and training, and private practice. Dr. Emmons is Past-President (2008) of the Alameda County Psychological Association. She has organized and chaired a national conference on internship issues, “The Half-Time Internship: Coming into the Mainstream”, and is currently involved in two major nation-wide projects related to training in professional psychology: the development of an internship toolkit and a survey of practicum training practices and structures throughout the U.S.. In collaboration with local doctoral programs, she is on the steering committee developing the Bay Area Practicum Training Collaborative (BAPIC) to centralize and streamline practicum placements for students in the San Francisco Bay Area.
